I’m taking you back in time again. I remember when Welcome Back Kotter ruled the air in the late 1970s. Do you? Travolta got his start, but more so, it marked the end of one of the worst economic periods the United States has ever endured. It’s good that Volcker was on his way in. Let’s hope Powell is on his way out.
I’m Not That Confused
Rates are going down. Trump, along with the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, is on his way, and overall the executive branch will not be the same. Say goodbye to overt anti-energy producing regulations. Say hello to “drill-baby-drill” and more.
Other than the Democratic Party, I don’t hear too many preaching against tariffs, and even fewer are complaining about illegal immigration. Face it, it is illegal. Understand it is like the plague as well, history.
What’s obvious? From my perspective, one way or another, interest rates are going to come down. That’s important, but don’t forget about Yellin’s ‘mushroom’ farm filled with a short-term debt explosion. I’m long TLT and the 30-year U.S. Bond futures, and I’ll patiently wait for rates to decline.
I’m also long the stocks who will make regulatory requirements as low as four weeks. I like GEOS, MIND, and if you look for a strong current dividend, TGSGY. Again, if the sourced raw material is discovered, the regulatory period of mining it is reduced. It’s a good deal for both the assay expert and the miner. It’s also a good time to buy the rare earth mineral stocks while they are down. I’ve spoken of them before, so take a look at a few older posts.
Say A Prayer
Kerrville, Texas needs your help. There is no way to predict more than a foot of rain to hit the ground in a very short period of time before daybreak. My heart goes out to the families who dropped their kids off for a religious camping experience, and will never see them again. It’s a tragedy. Say a prayer.
Welcome back, eh? It was one hell of a show, not as good as M.A.S.H., but it made a few actors famous. Travolta got his start here. What I remember about this period was the fall of the United States as an energy power. It all culminated by the Shah of Iran being kicked out of his country, giving rise to decades of religious rule. Maybe that is going to change. Maybe not, it’s up to the people. Things were changing during this period just like they are now.
