Do you miss me? I hope not, and more so, I hope you’ve been reading my rant over the last couple of months. My Dad had a “simple” philosophy that worked. The more you say, the greater the chance that those reading it will become confused. For that reason and more, I talk less and post infrequently.
Nonetheless, many of you want to stay ahead of The Ticker curve. I get it, but nothing has changed. I still go against the herd, I look for the downtrodden opportunities, and I’m patient.
Buy June 2025 VIX Calls
I am, and you should be, too. Think about it. What you are buying is time. It’s a long way until June hits the radar screens. I’m buying up the 20 calls at about a $2.50 total premium. That insurance is cheap at twice the price. The reason is simple, just ask the herd who are usually too late and often wring.
They’re selling this option. With little to no real experience, everyone can only see the roses, but they cannot smell the unexpected. Something wrong is going to happen and the only way to protect your portfolio is to hedge. If you have followed me you know.
Buy Brand Name Turnaround Stocks
I’ve spoken enough about these. I’ll only mention their names, how I’m trading these stocks, and what’s next. Remember, I’m boring and it works.
I’m a long-term buyer of Boeing (“BA”), Nike (“NKE”), and Ford )” F”). Boeing needs money, so I’m short options, both covered and naked. I’m holding off on selling more naked puts as there’s an offering coming. When that happens, I’ll load the boat further with more shares, naked short some out-of-the-money puts, and cover my call options.
When it comes to Nike and Ford, I’m buying shares on “dips” and selling naked puts. I have a bit of a problem with Nike making too many products in China. It’s an area I am going to watch but there’s no such problem with Ford. Ford is going higher. It also pays a great dividend and the last thing family ownership is going to change is what it regularly pays.
There’s More
Chances are you will hear more about them and what we’re doing with “The Ticker” in a couple of days. Until then read a few of my prior articles and learn how to protect your gains. I hate to give up profits and tryst you have learned how I do that.
Yeah, Tommy is back. Not just because I’m one of the best pinball players you have ever met, no. The Who in Listening To You with See Me, Feel Me tells it realistically. I might be early some of the time, but I’m usually right. Patience works. It’s good to be right, but it’s smart to be cautious. Remember, the herd is usually wrong.
