The U.S. Open
No Course Tougher Than Oakmont
I remember playing the course when trees were still there. It’s hard to believe scoring is more difficult today than it was when I considered Oakmont my home. One thing is for sure, if you want to score, there are two rules to follow. First, stay out of the rough, and second, not only take a caddie, but also listen to the advice you’re given on the greens.
I’m old enough to remember Johnny Miller’s 63-stroke closing round. I also remember selling my program and attendance badge for over $500 on eBay a couple of years ago. It was time, but this weekend brings back memories. Best and hardest course I have ever played, or should I say, it played me.
Powell Is Eating Yellen’s Mushrooms
When it’s time to lower rates, Powell does nothing. Perhaps he should have raised the interest rates sooner, a few years ago, but he was eating Yellen’s mushrooms. It looks like his buddy Joe Biden was eating them too. The problem with Joe is that he might have partaken of a bad batch.
I miss Meltzer. Not only was he my best mentor, but as head of the Shadow Open Market Committee, we shared a belief. The only great Federal Reserve Chairman was Paul Volcker. I liked Powell until this last round. It is time for him to step aside.
China Trumped The United States Again
I’m deeply entrenched in the Rare Earth Element arena. China is holding its “weight” over the United States, as right now, we need their exports. That’s going to change. It has to. Trump knows that as a country, we will not depend upon an enemy to supply what we need. When it comes to the DoD, they’re not interested in what China has to supply. Pretty soon, others end users will not be either.
Building Better Drones
That’s one of the tickets we’re supporting, better drones, or should I say, better robots. When people think of drones, they look to the sky. We do as well, but we’re looking at space, too. We’re looking at robots to scour the ocean bottom. When it comes down to it, the fight for superiority is in that six-inch space between our ears. That’s the best place for our project, and that’s where we’re heading.
Last Chance Weekend
It’s Father’s Day. It’s also the last day we’ll take investments from anyone with respect to our project. I wish more time could be given, but that’s not in the cards. We never needed much money, but I have an interest in allowing everyone a chance to join in. Interested? Email me at info@tickeredu.com. Thanks for all of your time. Sorry, it is running out on my side.
I saw Morrison’s grave in Paris. Hell of a site. He’s right in many ways, but he is right on this one. This is the end. Short-term rates are too high. Iran is headed in the wrong direction. We’re done waiting for people to decide what the future will bring. Today, the future is now. What can’t people see? This is both the best and the worst of times. I see it and have reacted to it. You’re open to join me at info@tickeredu.com.
