From as far back as I remember, when I was trading more actively, I didn’t have time to do anything except concentrate on what I was doing; trading. In today’s world with all of the fancy tools that are available, the ever changing “signals” they produce and the multiple screens they’re displayed upon it’s simply impossible to trade and post. So who is doing all of this posting?
In some cases it’s the “wanna be” experts, you know the ones who are seldom if ever wrong. They appear with others similarly situated who “pat each other on the back.” They’re easy to spot. Others have something to sell; a newsletter, a trading strategy even sometimes a platform. They’re easy to spot as well as they often have a “tag line” or “link” that takes you to where you can buy something from them. At least they’re honest but in reality they are legends in their own minds. If you’re a good trader you make your money trading or you’re earning a management fee doing it for others.
The posters who really make a difference are those that post real information. They’re posting various tools and summary signals of what they rely upon. Quite often they’re providing information that helps others make better decisions not simply bragging about how well they did; my thanks go out to them.
When I post there’s normally an underlying reason why. I’ve been able to associate the past, something that’s deeply entrenched within my memory banks, that’s resurfacing in a way that provides insight into what “might” happen next. I emphasize the word “might” because as I’ve proven time after time, I’m not always right. But in my case, other than to have you follow me ”for free”, all I want is for you to learn something from my experience. Then it’s up to you to further evaluate what’s posted and to make up your own mind. In short, I’m just happy you’re enjoying what is presented.
Although we’re still adding to our long position in the Japanese Yen (finally back to even on a position originally opened a little early) it’s time to start getting serious about Carbon Emissions. Technically speaking, from the “old school” method of bar charts and open interest, this baby is about to ramp. We opened a small position over the last couple days and think you should start to learn more about what this future actually is and consider doing the same.
Carbon Emissions - Daily
The trend is right, its support is strong enough to provide a point of entry and in the same breath, for those of you who are “faint of heart” there’s a stop entry exit point if it goes the other way. By the way open interest is moving in the right direction. That’s something we rely upon as demonstrated to you in our recent trade in Sugar. While I’m not too thrilled about the wick that formed today when it opened and simply “ran too far too fast” I can live with it. Remember, the use of Carbon Emissions to keep the “woke world” happy is voluntary at this time. Think about the inherent demand that will be generated when it becomes a requirement.
Super Micro Computer, Inc. (“SMCI”) - Daily
A brief “pat on my own back” is appropriate today as one of the only equities we have recommended over the past year or so had another good day. We have a tendency to buy “best of breed” stocks. I guess it comes from the days of when “hedge” funds were really hedge funds; you know buying the best stocks in the industry segment while at the same time going short the laggards. Super Micro Computer, Inc. (“SMCI”) was an easy pick that fit that criteria. As always do your own due diligence. With today’s after market reaction to yet another earnings beat and improved forward forecast it’s price has almost doubled since we originally entered last October. I’d rather be lucky than good. The “harder I work the luckier I get”.
It’s getting closer and closer to buying select stocks again so keep watching for what we’re looking at. Again, we’re only going to post when the conviction “hits us”.
Hope you enjoyed this post. I’m just a young 68 years old; my Dad became a broker when I was 13. It’s time for me to ‘give back’ to all of you what’s in my head. It’s not always pretty but it’s based on history . . . and history, unchecked, repeats itself.
Everyone learns at their own pace. If you pick everything up the first time through, great but if not email me at dzimmer@substack.com so we can further help.
Only appropriate to remember The Fifth Dimension today. Maybe that’s what’s flying towards Hawaii today . . . are they Chinese?
