My parents grew up during the Depression. My grandparents escaped Europe early in the 20th century only to bear witness to the Holocaust. Dad was the first to graduate from college setting me up in this wonderful securities industry and more. Me, I just do and learn something new every day. I hope you do as well.
What the hell is going on in this world today? University presidents are more worried about raising capital that standing up for what’s right. Last week’s the Congress held a hearing that exposed their reticence. Penn’s president has resigned. I wonder who will be next. One can only hope change is in order.
Underneath this all too bleak shadow, our current administration continues to forgive student loans. Think about it, colleges cost far too much today, they have endowments that rival investment bank hordes of money, yet students who have debt coming out of their ears cannot repay it. The balance I witnessed growing up is out of kilter. It needs to be addressed, another reason to vote in the coming elections among many. It’s your country; treat your expectations and vote with care.
Enough of my opinion, let’s take a look at a company in an industry that’s been under attack in 2023, drug stores, or should I say, pharmacy / medical / convenience stores.
