Time is a “precious” commodity for me this week but i cannot forego the arrival of the “precious” metal boom. Silver finally broke out of a tight trading range. I was only able to pick up a couple 2024 May Silver contracts overnight but something is better than nothing. With the run in Bitcoin, gold taking flight over $2,100 and an indecisive Fed it only makes sense that it’s time. I hope Copper follows suit as I own a few more than a couple of the 2024 May Copper contracts. It’s a seasonal play but Silver, that’s more of a “technical” breakout than not.
Like I follow the “big boys” for my international investments, I do follow Otavio Costa on LinkedIn and suggest you all do the same. While like me, he’s usually a bit early, he is more often right than wrong. Besides that, he’s consistent and he’s dead on right on the “precious” metals trade. So what are you waiting for, look him up and while you’re there click on John Navin, a contributing writer for Forbes. You can find him here all of the time on Substack and LinkedIn as well.
So why am I telling you to watch what others write and post? It’s easy, I want you to be the “best damn trader or investor” you can possibly be so when I watch someone I’ll tell you to do the same. We all have varied styles and techniques. That’s a very good thing. Otherwise what you are taking in would be boring and the last thing this market exhibits is boredom. I should know as “boredom” is a negative emotion and one I think you should avoid at all costs. People make ‘big’ mistakes doing anything when they’re bored simply because they don’t know how to do nothing. I do “nothing” often. I find it’s a great position to maintain, “flat”.
So I just wanted to bring this to your attention as there’s a lot of work for me to do. I’ll give you all a shout out as we at The Ticker have never been busier. That’s your fault, thanks. It was a good idea to wait until what we have to offer is ready for you to take advantage of it. Keep your eyes and ears on this thread and always remember, we do care that you are happy learning the “right way”.
Like Silver “it’s about time”, eh? Kind of takes me back in time to the days of “Lost in Space”. I’ve been looking forward to this one for many reasons. I’m usually historical in nature as I have a memory like a “steel trap”. Lost in Space along with Get Smart, The Addams Family, Combat and more meant a lot to me. Lost in Space brought “robots” to our attention. They’ve changed a bit over the years but like most, I remember my first, robot that is. I’ve lived through many “silver” runs, some legal and some “not so” legal, just ask the Hunt Brothers. From my perspective, the old metal has some legs here and the whole world is watching. We all know what the “herd” can do when they want too, eh?
