Perhaps I sound a bit groggy this morning. That’s for good reason as there was a lot going on worldwide last night. My final revisions for the dust covered hard bound “The Ticker’s Bible” was delivered to me late yesterday, I’m just about finished with the Udemy course(s) and the final website is right around the corner, I hope. That was the least of my worries. I’m just starting to see the “soft” commodities tumbling and despite only watching their demise it’s something we should all notice.
The Softs Are Tumbling Down
If a reduction in inflation is going to materialize, despite corporate America being the last to reduce prices, the formula for such a thing to happen could be in place. None of the commodities illustrated surged in one swoop so it is unlikely they will decline in a significantly different manner but it’s worth watching.
There’s the “big three” or at least the ones I am watching. Again, no positions, I’m a happy investor with what I own, but these should be on everyone’s radar. They went down in unison perhaps giving rise to further declines. Then again they could put in interim lows and resume their upside. I don’t think so but trades in these commodity contracts is a little too rich for my blood.
I’ll address much more in my “paid for” weekend article as I mentioned, it’s December and anything can happen. Being a longer term investor, and capitalizing upon years of experience beginning with the “Dogs of the Dow” almost a half century ago, I’ve taken the time to broaden that focus. There’s one stock in particular I like and you’ll hear all about it on Sunday.
Otherwise, it’s sunny outside and there’s leaves to rake and grass to cut. I’m thrilled to note that there’s no snow on the ground so hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to the outside I go.
I’ve been looking for an opportunity to play a little John Mellencamp. No, it’s not Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” but “Crumblin’ Down” is a close favorite. The softs are giving us a reason to watch. Powell says the potential for higher rates is still out there so he must be watching as well. The street doesn’t believe him and well, who knows. Check back this Sunday as the next six months will be on the agenda. For now I’m off to the “wild outdoors” to tackle the seasons. Best always and check back on Sunday. It’s well worth the $99.99 annually to do so. The book and Udemy course(s) are too.
