Long-Term Foresight Rules

It’s been a busy week. Israel followed its rules with more Mossad agents positioned on the ground in Iran than patriotic Iranian civilians. The plan, rolled out by the Israelis this week, did not just happen. It has taken years of undercover work to reach these goals. It should. We do it every day. You should, too, but unfortunately, most of you are looking for the “quick” hit. Good luck, and keep guessing. One day, you will be right.

I’d Rather Be Lucky Than Good

That’s a great statement, isn’t it? It’s better when followed up by, “the harder I work, the luckier I get”. How many of you know what a rare earth element is? Of those of you who answered yes, how many of you can name any rare earth element, and what it is used for?

I’ve got about fifteen stock symbols on my active watch list. Only a couple of them, MP and USAR, were worthy of an investment. I’m up about 40% on each and will be in both for a few years. It takes time. It also takes experience. Patience helps, too.

In the late 1970s, when gold and silver were the major players, most of the stocks you could buy were “pink sheet” items. They did what they wanted to, but in reality, when the price of the precious metals went higher, the only people who made more money were the original owners of the company. In other words, what went up quickly went down. We have the same scenario here for a majority of the Vancouver, Canada-listed securities. I don’t like to “play” there, and neither should you. There are a few on the list worthy of my attention, but I haven’t had the time to investigate them fully. Maybe next week, but no promises.

Take the money and run works if you have a long-term plan, patience, and you are not greedy. Now that more than 90% of you are eliminated, let me say thank you to the few of you who know we’re on the right track. Israel blew up Iran this week. If you had a plan for that happening, you did well, but most of you do not know what a dividend is. That’s OK, but really, did you think the price of oil and natural gas were going to stay down? They are a great hedge, and I’m a hedger. Time for the rare earths.
