Welcome to a new week. It’s hard to believe that January is almost over and February is on the doorstep. About $10.0 trillion in “mega caps” are about to report what the 4th quarter looked like, the Federal Reserve will be an “active participant” and the country will find out how it did employment wise. Lots of news this week but more than likely nothing will change much of anything. Stocks remain “over priced” and people are still spending too much money.
Nothing has changed in my strategy either. Long short and longer term bonds, happy holding gold bullion, dividend and turnaround stocks are performing as expected and my hedge is in place using VIX calls. I told you I’m boring but in all sincerity it’s for a good reason. Regardless of which party wins the election, interest rates are heading to the downside. I’ll make money either way so sitting on the sidelines works.
There is an industry I participated in during the “COVID-19” fiasco a few years back, one I entered and got out of as the returns were basically too good. It’s the education market but it’s different this time. During COVID-19, success revolved around school students learning online. Today it centers around general knowledge that everyone is seeking. It’s not only good for people worldwide to learn, it’s even better for educators like me to teach with and from.
In the past I often invested in the stocks of companies whose products I used. Please note, that philosophy hasn’t changed. I began with a book, “The Ticker’s Bible”. I soon realized that far too many people do not read as much as they should. Shame on you. I know how much I read and believe you should too but unfortunately you do not. Enter the world of online education. That is what I’m doing and so far, so good. Heading in that direction made me aware of what is a new industry has to offer in today’s online world so I started digging through publicly listed participants and came up with what follows.
Yes you are going to need to become a “paid” subscriber to find out my suggestion but it is worth it. Annually, the $99.00 you’ll have to spend is cheap at any price so sign up and enjoy. It’s worth it.
