To say the least, sleep is not something that happens for me overnight. I wish we had lighting outside enabling the “digging” of holes for our new tree and bushes but we do not. I’ll have to make the most of the time I have after the market closes.

The Israeli forces do not have such a luxury either. They too are in the dark just like Jake Sullivan, our esteemed National Security Advisor, who on September 29th stated that we’ve never seen such peaceful times in the Middle East. I guess he’s been eating Yellen’s mushrooms. Conveniently YouTube doesn’t have a real-time video of exactly what he said. That’s OK, he said it and you can find it on Fox News.

Biden spoke earlier today. He promised the free world would react to what terrorists in Israel have done. He claimed that the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy have agreed to “get together” and support Israel. Why it took an ugly terrorist action to bring out a statement and agreement of this nature I’ll never know. As I’ve stated in the past, “the whole world is watching”. Let’s hope they do it right this time.

Actions Taken

I do put my money where my mouth is. Still long bonds, gold, natural gas and the Yen versus the dollar. I picked up, had to fight for each, 10 December Russell 1,750 puts around $38.00 to increase my short position. I don’t like what I see and hear. I often take positions a little early. Such was the case yesterday. Israel and the powers that be are just getting started. So am I; do your own macro and geopolitical work then make up your own mind.

Additionally, I offer an article by one of the most esteemed “newsletter” publishers I follow, Dr. Arnout ter Schure. I do this when what’s written is done better than what I could present myself. The final revisions of “The Ticker’s Bible” hit my email last night. I did the only thing I knew to do; I gave it to my better half. She hasn’t found any mistakes yet but give her time, she will. Back to digging holes.
