Just another day on the street, eh?
I’m a boring individual at heart. I’ve been that way for years and hope never to change. I hope a few of you become more like me over time. I’m not always right. I am a very consistent investor and trader in my thoughts and writing. That’s why it is time to take a look at one of my favorites, the VIX calls.
It’s getting less volatile out there, isn’t it? What does that mean? To me it just means to start looking for VIX calls. It’s just about December so the earliest I’ll check out are in the March series. Then I’ll look for the strike prices that are heavily traded. Then I’ll act. Here’s what I see.
Bouncing off a low with decreased volatility tells me it’s time to “strike”. Quite frankly you caught me, I did enter the market earlier today and that’s why the volume is high. Now which VIX March call option did I buy to start with?
There you have it, I started with the VIX March 17 calls. My bid for more at $2.50 is not showing at this time. That’s OK, I’m a patient person and you should be too.
I might be a little early in taking a “good sized” position here but face it, I’m usually a bit early. As they all say “out of chaos comes calm” which means the antithesis is also true. It has been pretty calm out there and given the turmoil underlying the world it’s time to buy. What do you think?
Otherwise I trust that all is good with you all or as they say here in Texas, “y’all”. It is a little chilly out today but nothing like the northeast is experiencing around the lakes. I do remember those days and although it was not much fun, two days later the “partly cloudy” had melted and some people were hitting the little white ball on golf courses.
We get the same here but infrequently the little white snowflakes fall. It’s time to go out and pay 25% more for that perfect Christmas tree. Thank you notes are being sent to the “big guy”, thanks Joe. Y’all can be sure of one thing, my tree isn’t going to “fall” down or topple over.
I don’t know about you but I’m having a David Bowie kind of day. Maybe a little of a Who and “Tommy” day but let’s save them for another time. I grew up with both so they are ever present in my life and they should be. Bowie in “Changes” reflect a point that no one can change time. You can adjust to it, reflect upon it, maybe even as I try to do predict “what’s next” but you cannot change it. Good man that Bowie, here, in space or wherever. I wonder if Elon Musk listens to his songs?
