Powell did something interesting yesterday. He signaled a “real” reawakening of “the dead”, the “Dogs of the Dow” and more. He’s given me the ability to enlarge what I’m putting together for this weekend’s article. It’s worth subscribing to my Substack for a mere $99.00 annually to get my “picks”. All anyone needs is one pick and those who’ve signed up in the past can verify that it works, just ask Harris.
The Dead Are Walking Among Us
I’m a bottom fisher. Recently I’ve taken a very large position in 2024 WTI July 85 calls below $1.00. With Powell’s comments and the fact that the “herd” is usually wrong, I am doing the same with the 2024 VIX March 17 calls.
Neither option needs to exceed its strike price. Given the amount of “time” involved all either needs to do is see its underlying futures contract increase in value. There are other manners to accomplish this as expressed to me last night by Zac Maurer. He’s a young student at the University of Georgia with great ideas. Take a good look at Zac’s LinkedIn profile and realize an early interest in this industry pays off in spades.
Otherwise the only action taken on this side was shorting the Russell Index when the futures pierced the 2,000 level. The “herd” once again was my trigger. a few contracts on the short side was in order besides, if I’m wrong it is not going to kill my portfolio.
Back to Udemy, my first book and working with Ingram Spark to get it “right” and to get it published so free, signed copies can go out to my paid Substack subscribers. I’m going to need a lot of books. I would be happy to send more so sign up. It’s well worth it especially this coming weekend.
In 1962 Bobby Pickett hit the charts with his “one hit wonder” the “Monster Mash”. I know I’m not the only person to have ever heard it. It was fun then and it is still a lot of fun today. Powell opened the gates, the “big boys” on the street are making it even easier to pick depressed stocks. All anyone has to do is watch for the securities they want to “dump” and back up the truck. I did it with PYPL and DIS and a pick for this weekend fits into this criteria. If you are not a paid subscriber you are going to miss out. So just like voting next November join my paid Substack now. The benefits are “priceless”.
